I have never seen any clothes made in Romania or anywhere else in Europe, they have labels from Bangladesh, Pakistan and of course China. They have to make it in Asia as most of the european countries are in EU now and its simply too expensive to manufacture

It might have only been 2.05 a day they were earning but instead of upping their wage.. they all got made unemployed and the trade brought to the UK.. I bet the ex factory workers are grateful for that!

If you keep it going, it sets a precident and the pay gets even lower. A standard has to be set and punished if it falls below the level by shutting it down. Punishing them makes the others stick to the rule. Harsh, but no other options.

unfortunately, this is happening with a lot of goods we buy in the UK, they are now, nearly all made in these sweatshops in the third world, its the rich greedy elitists, the top 1% who own 95% of the worlds wealth who are to blame.

every person on her has blatently bought a item of clothing from somewhere such a primark where they get paid less than that to make those clothes, so....

I agree with Orlb - If they are willing to do the work why take it away from them. It is not our place to get involved in the running of other countries we have enogh problems here. Now the work has been taken elsewhere they are earning nothing!!

Her old management CAN set up her 2 perfume deals, they were managing her then she was just a face, you want to blame someone blame them.Call me sceptic but I found it dodge this has come to light as soon as CAN sign a new deal for Pete with Superdrug!!!
Now these workers have lost 2,05 for 0 but some are just worried about getting one over Katie, it won`t make much difference to her millions but it will make a damn lot of difference to those people they could have just ordered the factory to pay the people the needed money.
Since they set up Katie`s perfumes has anyone investigated Pete`s?? The observer article mentions him as well.
What about UMBRO the bigger company which also exploit these people, Primark were exposed for doing the same.
Anyone who watches that BBC3 documentary about the British teenagers who visit 3rd world countries have seen how those countries and their workers are exploited they get paid a pittance for scrubbing animal skins for leather, doing electric parts etc.
Massive companies do it, bet the majority of perfumes at Superdrug use the bottles from there, again Katie has been made a scapegoat, and people who were already struggling have lost their jobs and income unlike here they won`t get income support.
Didn`t Superdrug do the same with Jade`s perfume when her press was bad, but stocked it again when it became better towards the end of her life?It`s also named in the observer article. It looks like to me Superdrug just needed an excuse

It is amazing how many people here are taking the moral highground - many are probably the ones that walk the streets in their Indian made shoes and clothes....
