TEEN idol MILEY CYRUS causes outrage - as she performs in skimpy outfits at a music awards bash.
The singer and actress, who is just 17, stunned young fans - and their parents - by writhing in various raunchy costumes.
Her display in Canada was a far cry from her days as clean-cut schoolgirl HANNAH MONTANA in the Disney series, when she was a role model for kids everywhere.
But now, like her Disney predecessors BRITNEY SPEARS and LINDSAY LOHAN, Miley is ripping apart her clean-cut image.

Oh come on. She's a professional entertainer wearing the normal clothing needed for an entertainer. What do you expect her to wear? Blue overalls or something?

The Hannah Montana image is sold to 5-year-olds so this is indeed raunchy for her target market. After a recent JLS gig locally to me a local DJ was wondering why they were lifting up their tops when singing to a bunch of ten-year-old kids. I imagine it was more for the mums though...

The girl no longer does Hannah Montanna and wants to appeal to an older auidence. shes nearly 18 get over it!!. Anyhoo shes clever, because the more you talk about about the more shes in the papers.

I use to watch Hannah Montanna when I was younger and my two younger sisters watch it now, but who can blame her? Shes 17 and she's finding herself. She's trying to define herself as an artist and a young woman and I don't think that there is anything wrong with that. Look at the people in the music industry that are on fire Lady Gaga and Katy Perry...theyre controversial and no one minds. We've seen this all before with Britney Spears, she was a teenage pop sensation and then when she tried to grow up no one would let her. Now here's Miley, trying to do the same thing and everyone seems to be faulting her for it too. I say go on Miley and as far as her song Can't Be Tamed goes I think it's great!

She is 17 now. When is the world going to accept that she is growing up? People dont say the same thing if she was spotted in a bikini... she is putting on a show its not like she's going to wear jeans! If people left them to it then maybe people like Britney and LiLo wouldnt have ended up the way they did.

The sick aspect of this is that pop tart music producers are middle aged male executives who know whats unacceptable and aim for it. Being part of the problem themselves they can't see that this damages societies attitudes to women. If one of her executive team suggested she dress just a fraction less like a street worker they'd get fired and wouldn't be able to work in the industry again.

Shes nearly an adult for gods sake why is everyone making such a big song and dance about this? i understand shes supposed to be a role model for young kids but she cant be Hannah Montana forever, of course shes going to start acting and dressing differently when she gets older. And its not as though she was walking down the street in this outfit, she was putting on a show!!

If they have to strip down and do some of the dances that she as done to sell records then it's a disgrace. Why these young women have to hardly have any clothes on today to sing is beyond me. Madonna is as bad and Kylie is another. Waste of time if you ask me.
