STUNNING CHERYL COLE was thrilled last night as she was named Woman of the Year.

The singer gave a cheeky wink as she arrived at the awards bash - showing she is doing great since ditching cheating hubby ASHLEY COLE.

Cheryl dazzled in a plunging £25,000 JULIEN MACDONALD designer gown - and quipped that it had taken all day to get ready.

The Fight For This Love singer, 26, said: "Things are great! I'm having a fantastic time. I'm so proud to be named Woman of the Year.

"It's good to be on a night out with so many talented women."

She was presented with the Glamour magazine award by Sex And The City actor JASON LEWIS. Gavin & Stacey star JAMES CORDEN jokingly offered to SLEEP with Cheryl as he opened the awards ceremony in central London.

He added: "It's no longer a man's world." Cheryl then shouted: "Hear! Hear!"

One Show host CHRISTINE BLEAKLEY, 31, won the award for Presenter of the Year.

Cheryl announced her divorce from England and Chelsea defender Cole two weeks ago.

US dancer DEREK HOUGH - who has been staying at her Surrey mansion - flew out of Heathrow yesterday. They will meet in LA when Cheryl records her second album.

Cheryl sat at the same table as Bizarre Editor GORDON SMART at last night's bash.

These awards are meaningless, no disrespect. I note that those awarded including christine are in the puplic eye constantly which is why they get these awards because everyone knows their names and can not think of anyone else.

Well, I think that she deserves this award as much as anybody, she is faultless and as I remember, she did not mime on the XFactor because she knew that she would be criticised, she was great then and she still is, strength to strength Cheryl.

Should have gone to one of our servicewomen who's been out in afghan or a nurse in one of our challenging emergency departments! Well someone like that anyway! But then the type of people who read Glamour magazine couldn't really comprehend what 'real' women of the year achieve

I am most certainly not jealous of this woman but I have to say there are far more women that deserve this award. It really is a complete joke. I think you will find most people leaving negative comments about this stupid decision to give the award to Cheryl Cole feel the same way. It's just an opinion NOT JEALOUSY!

She really isn't that good looking...remember the old Cheryl Tweedy...!

1) she's not stunning and 2) leaving a negative comment is not a sign of jealousy, it's giving one's opinion. 3) Hype and continuous publicity are often given to people of limited ability and is often undeserved.
